My Story

I am fortunate to have attended a Montessori school as a child and to have spent half of my life traveling and getting first-hand experience of different educational systems (Mexican, American, English...). I can honestly say that it is thanks to my parents' efforts to find the best education possible for me that I have been inspired to dedicate my life to an alternative way of both learning and living.

I first became interested in education when I was a child. Growing up in a typical Mexican family, where extended family is practically equivalent to something like the-people-you-grow-up-with-and-see-almost-every-dayI was the eldest child surrounded by a lot of younger children. So, from a very young age I said to myself I wanted to work with children when I grew up.

When I was 23, right after graduating with a B.A. in Psychology I received my AMI Primary Montessori Diploma (for children between 2.5 and 6 years of age) from The Montessori Institute of San Diego, in California. Ever since then I have never stopped promoting Montessori education. After 2 years of teaching experience in Primary environments (in Mexico and in Poland) I decided to learn about what Montessori had to say about the elementary years so I undertook the AMI Elementary training (the 3-summer format) at Montessori College in Dublin while working with an experienced AMI Elementary guide at the AMI model school in Paris. Then, as life went on, I became a mom for the first time. My daughter was born in February 2015 and before her arrival my husband and I moved to the south of France and spent a few months creating a Montessori home environment to welcome Paloma into the world.

I guess it goes without saying that I am passionate about and absolutely in love with what I do! This blog will be a way for me to promote the Montessori philosophy and also a means for me to ponder and reflect upon my Montessori experiences.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you will stick around!
